System Requirements • Any Macintosh Computer - SE30 and newer • System 7 and newer • 1.5 megabytes of free memory • minimum of 3 megabytes of Hard Drive space (depending on number of leagues run) • Printer Optional Items • Modem • Quick Stats Subscription (for easy update of stats - see chapter on Quick Stats) What is Head Office? Head Office is a Macintosh™ Fantasy/Pool Baseball application that lets you run your own Rotisserie style fantasy leagues or a simpler baseball pool. It features everything you need from Free Agent lists to a custom user interface that makes trading, reserving, injury reserve, waiving and the reactivation of players a simple task. Head Office was written to enable the user to achieve maximum enjoyment with a minimum of effort. The major time component of any statistical software is entering the statistics. Although you may opt to use manual entry, this can be a long and time comsuming process. Therefore Head Office makes updating your statistics a snap when you use Quick Stats™ preformatted Baseball statistical information files. Once these are downloaded from either the Quick Stats BBS or via the internet, it's only a matter of minutes before your entire weeks stats in Head Office are completely updated. How many Teams? In a Rotisserie style league, each player can only exist on one team. Therefore I would advise using somewhere in the order of 6 to 24 teams per league. This usually gives you sufficient players to choose from. Using a Pool style league allows you to have the same player on any number of teams. Therefore you have the ability to run a contest with 20,000+ teams if desired. This option will allow you to run a contest similar to the ones you see in many daily newspapers at the start of every Baseball season. If you are a running a large scale pool you may wish to contact me for the Head Office Professional version to enable easy entering of team data. Scoring Categories Using the standard rules of Rotisserie League baseball you may select any of the standard scoring categories : Hitters : • Batting Average • Home runs • RBI • Runs Scored • Slugging • Stolen Bases • Total Bases Pitchers: • Base on Balls • E.R.A. • Saves • Strike Outs • Wins • Wins minus Loses • WHIP (Walks and Hits per Innings Pitched) Scoring Formats Since Head Office can maintain either a fantasy or pool style league, there are two different scoring formats. In Rotisserie style, the number of teams in the league determine the maximum number of points available in each category. The team with the most points in each scoring category receives 10 points, second place will receive 9 points, third place will receive 8 point and so on until the team with the least scores one point. In Pool scoring, Head Office assigns one point per item in each category. Therefore if your team achieved 31 home runs this week, you would add 31 points to your total team points. Note that in pool leagues, the scoring category must be a whole number to enable it to be used. Hence batting average, slugging, E.R.A and WHIP's are not available for pool play. Reporting Head Office generates a report for Rotisserie Style play showing the teams individual players stats for the year as while as weekly and the team totals for YTD (year to date) and weekly . A summary page ranks every scoring category and their totals so you can see at a glance how well you are doing in every category in comparison to everybody else. There is also an overall ranking to show who’s in first who’s in last and everybody in between. A Free Agent list is generated as while as a waiver wire. For Pool style leagues, Head Office writes a tab-delimited text report file to disk that you may open with any word processor. Special Features Head Office is actually much more than a simple peice of stats software, it also has many features that you would otherwise not have if you were running a league manually using a database or spreadsheet : • Track salary and contract information and position eligibility • Select which teams are eligible for your leagues draft National, American or a combination of both. • Scoring for Pools may use Rotisserie style scoring or standard Pool style • Pools support up to 20,000+ teams. • Designed originally to be used by a professional Stat service that runs conventional Rotisserie leagues as well as Baseball Pools for newspapers.
